2015 Vinous scores are in and all wines entered received scores in the 90's!

2012 Écluse Ensemble – 91 points

Opaque ruby. Deeply pitched red- and blackcurrant aromas are complicated by suggestions of woodsmoke, pipe tobacco and black cardamom. Plush, sweet and seamless on the palate, offering intense dark fruit liqueur and cherry-vanilla flavors sharpened by a jolt of juicy acidity. This brawny yet vibrant blend finishes with excellent closing thrust and clarity, with smooth tannins coming on late.

2012 Écluse Zinfandel – 90 points

Deep ruby. Ripe dark berries, candied plum and lavender on the highly perfumed, spice-accented nose. Supple and broad, offering juicy black raspberry, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors and a hint of white pepper. Finishes long and gently tannic, leaving a sweet blue fruit note behind.

2012 Écluse Improv – 91 points

Inky ruby. An expansive bouquet evokes ripe red and dark berries, cola and incense, with a zesty overlay of peppery spices. Sweet and seamless on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and floral pastille flavors and a hint of mocha. Finishes sappy and very long, with smooth tannins providing shape.

2012 Écluse Cabernet Sauvignon Lock Vineyard – 90 points

Bright violet color. Dark berries, cherry pit and a hint of pipe tobacco on the fragrant nose. Lush and gently sweet, with broad blackberry and cassis flavors that tighten up slowly with air. A floral nuance emerges on the finish, which shows very good clarity and supple tannins.
