When blending our 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, we found four fabulous stand out barrels of our Lock Vineyard Cab that tasted so exceptionally well, we knew we had a special wine. The decision was made to hold these special barrels over for another year to see if this wine deserved to be our second vintage of our Écluse Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and it did! This wine was barrel aged for 30 months, creating an elegantly complex wine that is perfectly balanced with luscious flavors that march through to a long lingering finish. The classic deep garnet color and inviting nose leads you to a bold velvety richness that is highlighted by dense dark fruit and hints of chocolate. This wonderful wine can only be described as soft and voluptuous. It's velvet in a bottle!
